Prosecutors: Paterson man charged with attempted murder in Route 4 stabbing

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office announced on Friday a Paterson man was charged with attempted murder.
Christian A Velez, 24, was arrested after officers responded to a call on Thursday of a reported road rage incident on Route 4 East in Paramus. They found a 28-year-old man had been stabbed multiple times.
The victim was transported to Hackensack Medical Center, officers say.
Velez was also charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon.
Velez remains in the Bergen County Jail.
