Prosecutors: Driver was high during fatal crash in South Toms River

Prosecutors say 41-year-old Tremel Haskins was high on marijuana when he hit and killed 57-year-old Marie Bellavista, then fled the scene.

In Ocean County, a South Toms River man is facing charges in connection to a deadly crash that happened in June.
Prosecutors say 41-year-old Tremel Haskins was high on marijuana when he hit and killed 57-year-old Marie Bellavista, then fled the scene.
Investigators later found a loaded gun in his truck. With prior drug charges, Haskins was not allowed to have one.
He remains in county jail.
