A mother and her two children who were reported missing from Montville Township earlier this week have been found safe and unharmed, according to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.
Authorities say that 39-year-old Cheng Hsiao, along with her young children Ethan and Ian, were reported missing on Jan. 23. Husband Kanhan Hsiao reported them missing when they did not return after leaving the home on Jan. 22.
The county prosecutor says that Cheng Hsiao has indicated that she and her children will not be returning to their home. They are currently at an undisclosed location and are being assisted by state authorities.
It was unclear why the three went missing or why they will not return to their home. But officials say that no criminal charges have been filed.
