Prosecutors say a driver is in custody following a deadly hit-and-run that killed a NJIT college student.
Brianna Williams, 21, of East Orange, is facing numerous charges, including leaving the scene of a fatal accident.
Naomi Segura, 25, of Byram Township, was struck two weeks ago while crossing a street near the intersection of Summit Street and Central Avenue.
According to the prosecutor's office, Segura was taken to a hospital but died from her injuries.
The prosecutor's office says the car that hit Segura kept driving, but a second car stopped and called for help.
Segura was an active member on campus and was involved in a number of clubs, including Pre-Law Society.
