Prosecutor: 79-year-old Pennsylvania man tried to abduct child from NJ Wawa

The county prosecutor says that Thomas Cannon, of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, tried to lure child from the Maurice River Township Wawa by offering him candy.

A 79-year-old man from Pennsylvania has been accused of trying to abduct a 7-year-old boy from a Cumberland County Wawa.

The county prosecutor says that Thomas Cannon, of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, tried to lure child from the Maurice River Township Wawa by offering him candy. Authorities say that Cannon also grabbed the boy’s arm and tried to take him after the boy declined to go with him.

Police say that the boy was able to get away and found his mother.

Cannon was able to leave before the police arrived.

He was arrested on Friday and was charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
