A Rockaway-based organization is holding a collection drive this weekend to help the residents of Texas after a winter storm ravaged the area.

A Rockaway-based organization is holding a collection drive this weekend to help the residents of Texas after a winter storm ravaged the area.
Project Kindis filling a freight truck with supplies before sending it to Houston.
Uber is donating the truck, but the supplies come from the community.
CEO of Project Kind Jenny DePaul says she knew she had to do something for the residents of Texas when she saw what was going on.
“I said ‘you know what, we have to do something for these people, we need to come together, all of us, and just help each other,’” DePaul says.
Residents in the storm were left without water, food and other basics.
