The election of President Barack Obama has made this Presidents Day particularly special for New Jersey?s Kenyan community.
?I'm just happy to have President Obama in,? says Cliff Ratemo, of Jersey City.
Kenyans across America feel a bond to the new president due to their shared heritage - Obama?s family is from the Luo tribe in Western Kenya. Wilfred Kyakundi, owner of the Mzalendo convenience store in Jersey City, says Obama is an example of the American dream.
"It brings up [the] idea that anybody can achieve anything if they work hard,? he says.
