(AP) - Thousands of train passengers were strandedbetween New York and Washington because of Amtrak power problemsalong the busy Northeast Corridor Monday. Amtrak spokeswoman Karina Romero says a substation in northPhiladelphia lost power around 7:41 a.m. It's not known what causedproblem and the railroad is investigating. NJ Transit spokesman Dan Stessel says its commuter trains wereheld at stations because there wasn't enough electricity to movethem. Romero says service was restored around 8:20 a.m. However,Amtrak trains experienced delays of up to 45 minutes after theproblem was fixed. There were delays of up to one hour on NJ Transit's NortheastCorridor, North Jersey Coast Line and Midtown Direct service oncethe power came back on. PATH trains, which shuttle passengers between northern NewJersey and New York City, honored NJ Transit tickets at Newark andHoboken.NJ Transit
