There are only seven regularly scheduled days left in this year's state legislative session and lawmakers are working to pass as many bills as possible before the summer break.
Some of the big bills include changes to prevent local and state police from coordinating with federal immigration officials and reducing the amount of packaging companies can use for their products.
First-term Rockland Democrat Assemblyman Pat Carroll outlined his focus for legislation before the end of the session.
We're working on those big three: affordability, safety, clean water, clean air, lumping the last two together," Carroll said. "We're trying to push as many as we can."
Lawmakers have previously told News 12 they are prepared to potentially return to Albany after the session ends this summer to address federal cuts to the state, depending on how much they lose.
