Terror attacks in France have put the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey on high alert.
They added security at all the bridges, rails and tunnels in the area.
Governor Chris Christie also made a statement regarding security throughout the state following the attacks in Paris.
In a tweet the governor stated, "We are working with our Homeland Security Department and New Jersey State Police to make sure that all steps are taken to protect New Jersey after the Paris attacks."
The Port Authority has said that it is keeping an eye on Hudson River crossings and its facilities in New Jersey.
New Jersey State Police say there is no specific threat against the state, but the entire agency is staying vigilant in the wake of the attacks.
