Police say that stray bullets injured two people in Newark, including a child, on Sunday.
The shooting happened around 7 p.m. at a house on South 17th Street.
Police say that the two victims were attending a cookout when they were hit by the stray bullets.
They say the little boy was shot in the head. Officials say he was taken to University Hospital by his family and is in stable condition.
The other victim was also transported by car to the hospital with a wounded arm.
Authorities have not yet announced any arrests.
