A South Orange man has been charged in connection to a shooting at a food distribution business in Linden, according to police.
Daniel Corprew was charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault. Police say he shot the victim multiple times around 6 a.m. Friday at Maximum Quality Foods on Tremley Point Road.
The 43-year-old victim was taken to the hospital and is listed in critical condition.
Maximum Quality Foods released a statement and said they are working directly with local law enforcement to aid them in their investigation, including providing all surveillance videos.
“Nothing is more important to us than the safety and well-being of our employees, partners and vendors,” the company said in a statement.
The distribution service company also said it will provide a professional counselor for their on-site facility team and is reviewing security measures.
Police say Corprew is facing additional weapons charges in Newark and is being held at the Essex County Jail.
