Four men are facing narcotics and weapon charges after a four-month undercover investigation led authorities to execute multiple search warrants across Mercer county.
Officers with the Hamilton Police Anti-Crime Unit executed search warrants on Monday, Aug. 3, targeting a residence on the 1500 block of Greenwood Avenue, a business on the 1600 block of East State Street, and a Jeep Grand Cherokee.
During the searches, authorities recovered an imitation firearm, ammunition, suspected cocaine and crack cocaine, PCP-soaked cigarettes, Clonidine Hydrochloride, and Alprazolam (Xanax) pills, alongside packaging materials, paraphernalia, and $2,483 in cash.
Four suspects were taken into custody during the operation. Kevin Blue was arrested following a motor vehicle stop of the Jeep Grand Cherokee, while Phillip Young and Charles Jackson were located and arrested inside the Greenwood Avenue home. Lawrence McCray was arrested at the East State Street business.
Blue, Young, and Jackson face heavy charges including maintaining or operating a controlled dangerous substance production facility, possession with intent to distribute multiple narcotics, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Blue and Jackson were also charged with weapon offenses as persons prohibited from possessing weapons, and Blue received an additional money laundering charge. All three were remanded to the Mercer County Correctional Facility pending a detention hearing.
McCray was charged with possession of an imitation firearm and drug paraphernalia and was released on a summons.
