Authorities are seeking the public’s help to locate a Newark teenager who has been missing since Christmas Eve.
Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose said Giovanna Castro, 17, was last seen on Dec. 24. She is 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 120 pounds. Police said her hair was dyed red from its original color of black at the time that she was last seen. She also has a tattoo on the front of her right shoulder.
Ambrose said while police continue to actively search for Castro, the department seeks the public’s assistance in quickly locating and returning her to her family.
Anyone with information about Castro’s whereabouts is asked to call the department's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-695-8477 or 1-877-695-4867. All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
