Police are searching for the man they say stole around $148 worth of ice cream from a store in Highbridge.

The NYPD says the man walked into a Family Dollar store located at 1081 Ogden Ave. around 6:45 p.m. Wednesday. They say he took a large amount of ice cream and attempted to take off.

Police say a store employee attempted to stop the man and he threatened to harm the employee. That's when he exited the store with the ice cream and took off running.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
