Police say a 5-year-old Bronx boy has been reunited with his mother after separating from her Monday morning and taking the subway to Manhattan before a passenger realized he was lost.
Authorities were notified once the boy, Samuel Sosa, reached the South Ferry subway station, where they picked him up and drove him to the Marble Hill precinct. Lisella Sosa, the boy's mom, says he ran away from her while they were picking up lunch for the day at a crowded grocery store at the corner of 225th Street and Broadway.
Police say Sammy usually takes the bus with his mother to his babysitter's home, but when he saw the Bx7 bus wasn't at the stop, he ran into the subway station and jumped on the southbound 1 train.
Authorities say officers launched a borough-wide search for the boy. They say he was found unharmed.
