Police in Bloomfield say a pedestrian was fatally struck by a pick-up truck.

The accident happened Friday around 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of Broad and James Street.

According to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, Patrick Forsythe, 59, of Bloomfield, was fatally struck by a Dodge Ram pick-up truck.

Forsythe was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The driver on the truck remained on scene. 

There have been no charges filed.
