Police in Westampton Township say up to 17
catalytic converters were stolen from school buses in the Burlington
County Special Services School District.
According to police, three
bus routes in total are affected.
Police say the cost to replace
the converters will be
between $2,000 and $3,000 just to get one bus back in service.
The town has seen about 100
catalytic converter thefts so far this year.
The thefts come amidst a nationwide busing shortage.
