Police: Off-duty East Orange police officer carjacked by 3 armed suspects in Newark
Authorities say the officer was approached by the suspects near Broadway and 2nd Avenue.

An off-duty East Orange police officer was carjacked early Saturday morning in Newark, according to authorities.
Police say the officer’s car was rear-ended by another vehicle just before 5 a.m. near Broadway and 2nd Avenue.
After exiting to assess the damage, he was approached by three armed men wearing masks.
The trio took his keys and other belongings before entering his car and driving away.
Police say the incident is under investigation.
