Police: NJIT student on bike killed in collision with construction vehicle

Investigators in Newark say an NJIT student was killed while on his bike after a collision with a construction vehicle.
The accident happened Wednesday around 8:30 p.m. in the area of McCarter Highway and Gouverneur Street.
According to police, Kevin Milfort-Sanchez, 20, of Paterson, was going to school in Newark.
Police say Milfort-Sanchez was riding his bike when an excavation vehicle operated by NJ Transit collided with him.
He was rushed to the hospital, where he died.
It was determined the construction vehicle was travelling north on McCarter Highway when it collided with the bicycle.
The driver of the construction vehicle remained in the area.
So far, no charges have been filed.
