A school in Newark was temporarily locked down due to reports of gunshots in the area.
Newark police say they responded to Bergen Street and South Orange Avenue on a call of shots fired just before 2 p.m. Monday.
They say officers found "ballistic evidence" of the shooting at a gas station on the 200 block of South Orange Avenue but did not find a suspect or victim.
Lead Charter School was temporarily locked down as a safety precaution.
