A portion of Newark Liberty International Airport was evacuated after police say a man made his way into a secure hallway.
Port Authority Police Department spokesman Joe Pentangelo says it happened around 7 p.m. Sunday.
He says the man entered the secure hallway through an exit door at the airport's "C'' terminal.
Pentangelo says the man, whose name was not immediately released, was stopped by Customs and Border Protection agents.
He says a portion of the airport was evacuated while officers with canines conducted a security sweep. The terminal was reopened at around 8:30 p.m.
