Police say that a new school bus route that was not communicated to parents and students left many of them anxious and concerned.
Franklin Lakes police say that officers received numerous calls from concerned parents on Wednesday that Bus No. 35 from Franklin Ave. Middle School did not drop off the students.
Police say they found the bus near Huron Road. After speaking to the driver, they determined that the school gave the driver a new bus route but did not tell the parents.
“This resulted in the bus traversing the stops in a different order and anxious juveniles being dropped off out of what they considered to be the normal sequence,” police wrote in a statement.
The students and their parents were reunited, and school officials were told about the situation.
