Police: Mom threatens to ‘shoot the whole place up’ while speaking to principal of NJ school

A Union County mom, who is the parent of a student at a Union Township elementary school, was arrested Tuesday after she threatened to "shoot the whole place up" while speaking to the principal of Jefferson Elementary, according to police.

A Union County mom, who is the parent of a student at a Union Township elementary school, was arrested Tuesday after she threatened to "shoot the whole place up" while speaking to the principal of Jefferson Elementary, according to police.
Police received a call from the Jefferson Elementary School principal around 1:30 p.m. and she told them about the threat.
The school was put on lockdown and officers were dispatched. Students stayed in their classrooms while police looked for the parent.
School dismissal was delayed until the woman was located.
She was arrested and sent to the county jail -- charged with making terroristic threats.
The parent has not been identified by the department. The school returned to normal and children were dismissed following her arrest.
