37ds agoPolice say a 21-year-old man suffering a mental health emergency barricaded himself inside a Hackensack apartment on Saturday.
They say it happened on Newman Street near Lee Place.
Police say they tried to de-escalate the situation but ended up calling on SWAT teams and emergency services.
Officers got into the apartment around 2 p.m.
The man was taken to the hospital for exposure to pepper spray and an evaluation.
