A man walked into Perry's Florist in Glen Rock yesterday in a full hazmat suit, followed by two other males, according to police.
Police say the person in the hazmat suit was carrying a handheld sprayer and began spraying the plants and flowers with an unknown substance. Police don't know what was being sprayed.
While this was taking place, one of the other subjects appeared to film what was occurring, police say.
Police say, when approached by several alarmed employees, the men became abusive and then fled the area in a white Tesla with New York plates.
Police say, the owner of the florist removed the plants and flowers that were tampered with from the showroom floor for safety reasons. It’s unknown if the plants and flowers were damaged.
Police are investigating what they believe is a social media prank. Anyone with information should contact the Glen Rock Police Department at 201-652-3800.
