A Newark man has been taken into custody for allegedly stabbing two police officers who were responding to call.
Newark police say that the officers were at the 600 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard on a domestic violence call when the suspect allegedly stabbed the two officers.
One officer was stabbed in the forearm and the other officer was stabbed in the side. They were taken to University Hospital for treatment and are listed in stable condition.
People who live in the building where the incident happened say that the building is normally quiet, except for the occasional loud music.
The suspect has not been identified. He was charged with attempted murder.
