UPDATE: Lakewood mother charged with the deaths of her 2 young children, prosecutor says
The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office and Lakewood Police Department are investigating the deaths of two children in the town.
Official details about the incident were not yet provided. The investigation surrounds a home located at 19 Shenandoah Drive.
Several neighbors tell News 12 New Jersey that it is believed that the mother drowned her children inside the home. News 12 has also heard that a woman was seen being taken into custody.
Neighbors said they saw someone performing CPR on one of the children inside an ambulance. They say that nothing like this has ever happened before in the area.
Law enforcement officials have not confirmed the ages of the children or if any arrests have been made.
