A 3-month-old baby girl was pronounced dead Monday night and while police are still investigating how Anetta Palmer died, her father has been arrested on assault charges after he allegedly got into a fight with Anetta's mother and grandmother.

Despite neighbors saying they've never seen the couple argue, police responded to a 911 call to their Stratford Avenue apartment, where they say a fight had broken out between the baby's parents and grandmother. Kevin Palmer, 20, was arrested on two counts of assault, but not in connection with his daughter's death.

Anetta was rushed to St. Barnabus Hospital with breathing difficulties but no signs of physical injury. She died two hours later. Neighbors say she had been born prematurely and had just recently been sent home after weeks in the hospital.

Police are still waiting for an official cause of death.
