Police: 1-year-old who ingested heroin saved by officers with Narcan

Police say Hazlet and Holmdel officers administered a dose of Narcan and transported the baby to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for further treatment.

Police officers in Monmouth County saved the life of a 1-year-old who accidentally ate heroin on Thursday.
Just before noon at the Middle Plaza in Hazlet, authorities say Monmouth County Dispatch received a 911 call about a 1-year-old who ingested opioids.
Police say Hazlet and Holmdel officers administered a dose of Narcan and transported the 1-year-old to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for further treatment.
Authorities say the child is in stable condition. There is currently no word on how the child ingested the drugs or if any charges will be filed in the case.
