Police in Morris County have broken up an oxycodone drug ring, arresting 54 people for illegally selling and distributing the prescription drug. Officers from 31 federal and local police agencies pulled young people, ranging from 16 -25 years old, out of bed and into a jail cell. Police say 18-year-old high school dropout Evan Rokoszak, of Hanover, is the ring leader. They say he recruited former high school classmates to sell the drugs. Police say the majority of the alleged drug dealers came from Whippany Park High School. They include former graduates, dropouts and students who are still enrolled. Police hope Operation Painkiller, which seized $130,000 in pills, will substantially curb the illegal sale of oxycodone and prevent young people from moving on to more dangerous drugs.
