Police: Homeless man accused of attacking woman with knife at Newark Liberty Int’l Airport

Jin Xiong was charged with aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a weapon. The woman is expected to fully recover.

A homeless man is accused of attacking a woman with a knife at Newark Liberty International Airport, according to Port Authority Police.
Officials say a Port Authority officer witnessed 54-year-old Jin Xiong attacking the woman. Xiong allegedly slashed the woman on the right side of her face. It happened Sunday around 5 p.m. in Terminal A, according to officials.
Police say that the officers promptly arrested Xiong. The woman was taken to the hospital for injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Xiong was charged with aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a weapon and was taken to Essex County Jail.
