Police officers shot a man who they say confronted them with a loaded firearm Friday night on Home Street.
Authorities say they initially approached the suspect while he was ducking behind a parked car before taking off. Officers chased him on foot and cornered him. That is when police say the suspect ran towards the officers, prompting one of them to fire three rounds, hitting the 47-year-old man in the torso, left arm and right hand. Police say they confiscated a .380-caliber gun from the suspect.
The man was taken to Lincoln Hospital in critical condition.
