Trenton police say that officers discovered human remains inside a home while conducting a welfare check on a city resident.
Authorities say that officers had to force their way inside the South Clinton Avenue home Wednesday after they were asked to check on the man living inside.
Police found the main alive on the first floor of the home. But officials say that when the officers checked the second floor of the house, they found human skeletal remains.
Police say that they were unable to interview the man living inside the home about the remains because he was suffering from a medical episode. Details were not publicly released.
The Mercer County Homicide Task Force is investigating.
