Police: Edison man charged with attempted murder for South Brunswick stabbing

Police say they received a 911 call at 1:19 a.m. of a dispute on James Avenue.

One man was hospitalized with several stab wounds after a fight broke out over the weekend in South Brunswick.
Police say they received a 911 call at 1:19 a.m. of a dispute on James Avenue. They say 24-year-old Dante Wright, of Edison, used his pocketknife Saturday morning to stab the victim he apparently knew several times.
Authorities say the victim is in stable condition.
Wright is being held at the Middlesex County Correction Center pending a detention hearing. He was charged with attempted murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and aggravated assault.
