A 9-year-old girl was injured in a shooting in Atlantic City Thursday evening, according to police.

Atlantic City police say that the shooting happened just before 10:30 p.m. on the 500 block of Indiana Avenue.

Police say that multiple shots were fired into a home and that the girl suffered a foot injury. The cause of the injury was not clear, but police say that it is believed to be from a gunshot wound or fragments from a bullet. The girl was taken to AtlanticCare Regional Medical Center for treatment.
