Port Authority police say a man was killed, and another suffered serious injuries, following a car crash on the Bayonne Bridge.

The crash happened Monday around 7:20 p.m., just past the Kennedy Boulevard exit in Bayonne.

According to Port Authority police, a driver hit a divider on the New Jersey side of the bridge.

Port Authority police say the two people in the car were taken to Jersey City Medical Center, where one passenger was pronounced dead.

The other passenger suffered serious injuries.

Northbound traffic was being diverted off at Kennedy Boulevard exit.
