? Thousands of people braved the cold and plunged into the Atlantic Ocean Sunday at Point Pleasant Beach.
More than 3,000 men and women, including police officers and firefighters, jumped in to raise money for the 13th annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Special Olympics. It was Dan Kisch?s third plunge. The participants say while it?s cold, their hearts are warmed to know they?re helping out people in need.
At last count, the Special Olympics said the event raised more than $463,000. The money will help train more than 14,000 children and adults to compete in the Special Olympics.
