Fire weather conditions continue this week as a result of our unprecedented drought, but we are tracking a late week storm that could provide some much-needed rain and a huge drop in temperatures.
It's a cool and breezy start to the day, but our Sunday afternoon looks like a winner.
Unlike yesterday, the wind will be much lighter which will lower the risk for rapid fire spread and make it feel much more comfortable. Highs will be in the low to mid 60s this afternoon.
Clouds roll in overnight and will linger through Monday morning, but at the most we'll only see a stray drop of drizzle before sunshine returns Monday afternoon. A touch breezy late Monday, but still mild with high temperatures in the mid 60s.
Tuesday and Wednesday will be noticeably cooler with highs near 60.
We're watching a storm on Thursday and Friday that will bring showers, wind and chilly conditions.
Unfortunately, it's not enough rain to put a dent in the exceptional drought, but it will be a much-needed break from the dry conditions we've seen so far this season.
FORECAST:
TODAY: Sunny to start, then a few clouds this evening. Highs in the low 60s. Cool and cloudy overnight.
MONDAY: Mostly cloudy to start with a sprinkle early. Sunny in the afternoon and a touch breezy. Highs in the mid 60s.
TUESDAY: More sun than clouds. Cooler with highs in the upper 50s.
WEDNESDAY: Some sunshine to start, then a few clouds in the afternoon. Highs near 60.
THURSDAY: Showers, clouds, and breezy. Highs in the low to mid 50s. About a quarter to half of an inch of rain is possible.
