Plans have been approved for the
first Wawa to open in Passaic County, and like most locations, a gas station
will be included.
The new location will be at Route 23 North in Wayne.
But not everyone is happy
about it. A nearby deli owner says the chain will be a "traffic nightmare," as well as a future competitor.
"Me personally, I'm
against it for, uhm, this is my livelihood,” says Craig Betron, owner of Max’s
Deli. “They are going to be selling a lot of the same things that I sell.
Sandwiches, coffee, bagels, etc."
Betron also says the town
already has plenty of gas stations.
