A new local law passed in Piscataway Tuesday night places new limits on hotel and motel stays in the township.

Mayor Brian Wahler said the ordinance is a response to hundreds of calls for theft, disorderly conduct and even a meth lab.

The new law restricts how long guests can stay at local hotels.

It also gives Piscataway police access to a list of who is staying at the properties. The ACLU says the measure is unconstitutional.
