Pilot suffers minor injuries in Eagleswood plane crash
A small plane crashed near an Eagleswood home Tuesday night, and officials said the pilot suffered only minor injuries.
New Jersey State Police said the Stinson single-engine plane crashed into a tree around 8:30 p.m. near 106 Laurel Hill Lane.
The pilot, who was the only person onboard, was able to walk away from the crash and knocked on a homeowner’s door to get help, according to officials. The pilot, who has not been identified, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Michele Paccione said she was sitting in her home when the plane came crashing into the trees near her home.
"I was having dinner in my dining room, and I heard the plane. Actually, it came down [on] my driveway up by my house. And it came down [on] my driveway and hit the trees at the end of my front yard and then crashed into my neighbor’s pine trees,” she said.
FAA officials were on scene Wednesday to determine why the plane crashed.
The crash happened just one day after a Learjet crashed into a parking lot in Carlstadt. Two people were killed in that crash.
