Perth Amboy officials say that there were no code violations against a home where a 9-year-old died in a fall from a second-story balcony.
"The home where the incident took place is not under any code violations with the City of Perth Amboy and holds a certificate of approval and compliance for the structure,” officials said in a statement.
Dariel Sosa was playing on the balcony with his 13-year-old cousin Jason Huerta Thursday evening when a railing gave away and the boys fell. Sosa was killed and Huerta was injured.
Investigators say that they want to speak to the landlord of the home on Brighton Avenue to learn more about what happened.
Charges have not been filed at this time. Investigators say that they believe the incident to be a tragic accident.
