A boat erupted in flames and left one person hurt Friday afternoon in Ocean City.

Officials say the blaze began after 1 p.m. near 32nd and Bay Avenue. Upon arrival, crews found the heavily damaged boat on its trailer.

The injured individual was airlifted to a hospital for treatment. Their condition was not immediately clear.

The Cape May County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
