A car crash left one person fighting for their life Tuesday in East Rutherford, according to police.

Authorities say a vehicle struck the victim just before 6 p.m. near Paterson Avenue and Washington Place.

The pedestrian was trapped beneath the car after impact.

First responders rushed to the scene and performed CPR.

Officials say the victim was rushed to a hospital and remains in critical condition.

It is unclear if the driver will face any charges.
