Well, we have a special edition of Pause and Pals this morning and trust me, it's magic. You may remember this viral video. We showed you last month, a magician at ST Hubert's Animal Welfare Center playing tricks on some of the dogs. Now, the idea was to show off the dog's personality so they could get adopted quicker. And with us is magician John Steel. He's here right now along with the folks at Saint Huber's, we have Michelle, we have Diane. So John, you are with Marty Marty's option and you're trying to play a trick on Marty. Watch the treat. Marty get the treat. Where to go, where to go. Oh, Marty, Marty, what happened to your tree, Marty? Did it go away. Come here, Marty. I got it for you, buddy right there. There it is. Very good boy. Good boy on Marty, your good friend, Marty. You like that treat? Yeah. So John, let me ask you, you have a huge following on social media. You're a magician. Uh you're also allergic to dogs, by the way, we, you had to take a few better draws before doing doing this segment. What, how did you come from magic to magic with dogs. Well, I was fortunate enough to connect with Saint Hubert's and we just thought it'd be really fun to try to show off the dog's personality in a way that they typically couldn't. So, you know, typically you show a video of a dog online being like, all right, we're gonna just film them. We were like, why don't we make their treat vanish and give them away to show off their own personality. So, so sweet and uh fans with us from Saint Hubert's, it's working, right? Because you've gotten some of the dogs adopted. That's right. Um Most of the dogs that were in those videos got adopted right away. So we're super grateful to John for making them disappear from the show. No, I I'm just grateful to work with them. They are those dogs are the star of the video. I just happen to be able to help them a little bit. That's it. I have to ask you, how did you even come up with like, oh, I'm gonna make the treat disappear and then we're gonna see what happens. Like, I mean, there's a lot of thought that goes into, right? I would say there is a lot of thought that goes into this a while back. I made a buddy a video with my buddy Rob Bliss where he tried to show some dogs magic tricks and it just became a staple of something that I do I connected with Diane and we were like, let's try to make a video with some of the more 10 year dogs at Saint Hubert. So some that hadn't found homes yet. And sure enough, the video went on and got lots of views and a lot of those furry friends are found homes. Marty is waiting for you to make trips tricks up here. Now, look at, he's like paying so much attention to you. Like, what's next? I know, I think Marty is just like, I think I'm famous right now and I'm just owning my moment right now and all the lights so I can tell his personality is that he's very focused and he's also very polite if you wanna call Marty's personality that way, he's very polite. He's very, he has a lot of manners. So, Dan, who would be perfect for Marty. Well, Marty is actually a very energetic playful guy. He's, he's got big ears and a big personality and he'd be great for an active family or a person who likes to, uh, you know, go for walks and runs. Um, he's just a great family dog. Uh, he'd be great with kids of all ages and he's also dog friendly. So, uh, what about cats? So we know about may be good with cats. Ok. I would have had him by the way because I wasn't trying to get involved in a party. Ok. So, um, what I can't tell what is he? Maybe a shepherd terrier mix. You know, we're not quite sure. We just know he's got the most amazing ears and he's just really social and lovable. Oh, he is social and lovable backstage. Everyone was coming up and petting him and he was a little celebrity and everyone's coming to say hi. He's such a good boy. All right.
