The past couple have months have been a challenge for Woody, a 1-year-old, purebred Shiba Inu who is almost fully recovered from a recent accident and is looking for his "furever" home. Woody suffered two broken legs after being hit by a car. But looking at him today, you'd hardly know it. Woody has boundless energy and love despite the ordeal that led to surgery and weeks of rehab. "Woody will need a family who will help him continue his journey of recovery with some physical rehabilitation to get fully back on his feet after his horrible ordeal," according to volunteers at SAFE House Animal Rescue and Sanctuary Inc. Because of his recent physical restrictions, rescue workers haven't been able to do proper dog introductions with Woody, but so far, the pup has primarily shown excitement and curiosity around other dogs. Volunteers say Woody is fully housebroken and crate trained. He's neutered, microchipped and vaccinated, and he's already learning some commands - especially when treats are involved. Woody's ideal home would be an active family that will continue his training, give him plenty of love and make him a member of their pack.
