Hamilton arrived at Sammy's Hope pet rescue in North Brunswick after a solo adventure that left him undernourished and in need of care, but now he's ready to find his "furever" home. A 3-year-old American Staffordshire terrier mix, Hamilton is described by volunteers at the rescue as "people-oriented." Despite having a rough start, the brown and white pup is friendly and loves to connect with humans - especially when they have treats. Volunteers at the rescue have been working with Hamilton to make sure he gets stronger. He's currently getting accustomed to a special feeding plan "to help restore both his body and spirit." "With every nourishing meal, every cozy nap, and every kind word, we see more of his true personality begin to peek through," Sammy's Hope says in Hamilton's online biography. "Hamilton just needs a little patience and a lot of love to help him build confidence and feel safe again. In a caring home, we know he’ll blossom into the loyal, affectionate companion he’s meant to be."
