A Paterson restaurant is helping to bring the community together through food.
Mamma’s Kitchen partnered with Black Lives Matter to donate meals to first responders.
The organizers say that they hope that the event can inspire healing and understanding between law enforcement officers and the BLM movement.
“Black Lives Matter and the Paterson police might not see eye to eye, so we look to see if this could be a bridge going forward,” says Mamma’s Kitchen co-owner Andrew Campbell. “This country is in the process of healing. We think we can heal with the breaking of bread.”
The group gave out 100 meals to essential workers.
