Paterson police are on the hunt for seven suspects they say robbed and beat several convenience store workers and taxi drivers.
Officials say in several instances, a female suspect hailed a cab and asked to be driven to North First Street. Upon arrival, a group of men swarmed the taxi and robbed the driver at gunpoint.
David Velasquez, who works at a bodega in Paterson says he doesn't need another reason to feel scared in his own neighborhood. He says the convenience store keeps a machete and bat on hand in case anything happens.
Police say the suspects also target food delivery drivers. Anyone with information on the robberies is urged to call Paterson police at 973-321-1120.
